The action picks up where we left off, between rounds 6 & 7.
“Chuck, Patricia is simply dominating this fight, she’s comfortably winning this fight!” I say, a look of surprise on my face.
In Monica’s corner:
“You okay, Mon? Can you continue?”
Monica nods her head to both questions.
In Patricia’s corner:
"You're doing a fantastic job, Patricia! Keep it up and you’ll knock her out sooner rather than later!”
Both women are on their feet for round 7,
The bell rings and both women are ready to fight.
Patricia charges at Monica and quickly eats a vicious uppercut, knocking her to the canvas. The referee begins counting, but Monica shoves him out of the way, gets on top of Patricia and just begins hammering her over and over.
The referee is finally able to push Monica back and begins counting Patricia down.
Patricia is slow to get to her feet and is finally up at 7.
The referee lets the fight continue, and quickly Monica lands a vicious right hook to Patricia’s body which once again sends her to the canvas.
But this time Patricia is quick to her feet by the count of 6.
No sooner is Patricia back to her feet, the horn sounds, ending round 7.
Patricia stumbles to her corner.
“Wow! Where did Monica come up with that round, Chuck?” I ask, astounded.
“I think that was a statement: ‘I’m not beat yet!’ by Monica!” Chuck says.
“I think it’s more that Patricia is finally showing she’s a paper champion, Steve!” Vanelle says.
“Vanelle is right, Steve, Patricia is your weakest champion and Monica isn’t far behind.” Alicia says.
In Monica’s corner:
“Great job that round, Monica. Your fighting your way back into this fight!”
In Patricia’s corner:
“Those two sitting ringside with Steve are making you out to be a joke, Patricia. You’ve clearly lost these last two rounds, go back out there and start applying pressure like only you can!”
Both women are on their feet for round 8.
The bell rings and both women come out circling.
Patricia comes out firing, hitting rights and lefts in rapid succession, backing Monica against the ropes.
Patricia now hits a vicious right hook to Monica’s jaw, knocking her to the mat.
The referee begins counting, but Patricia shoves him out of the way and really begins hammering away on Monica.
The referee is able to pull Patricia off and begin his count.
As expected, Monica is slow to her feet, barely beating the 10 count.
Monica is no sooner to her feet when Patricia blasts her one more time with a vicious right cross, knocking Monica down again.
Reluctantly, the referee again begins counting, again Monica barely beats the 10 count to her feet.
With that, the horn sounds, ending round 8.
Monica literally has to be dragged to her corner.
Patricia walks to her corner, hands held high as the crowd cheers.
In Monica’s corner:
They spend the entire break trying to revive Monica.
In Patricia’s corner:
“Good comeback that round, Patricia, you’re really showing your dominance. Keep it up!”
Both women are on their feet for round 9.
The bell rings, and both women slowly come out of their corners.
Monica looks like she can barely lift her arms.
Somehow, Monica scores first with a couple of stiff jabs, snapping Patricia’s head back violently.
Patricia answers back with a series of jabs herself.
Monica now scores with a vicious uppercut, knocking Patricia down to the canvas.
Surprisingly, Monica backs up to a neutral corner and allows the referee to count.
Patricia barely gets to her feet before the count of 10.
Patricia is no sooner back to her feet when Monica blasts her with a vicious right hook to the body, once again dropping her to the mat.
Patricia once again struggles to get to her feet, barely making it before the count of 10.
Just then, the horn sounds, ending round 9.
Both women need help locating their corners.
In Monica’s corner:
“You did good that round, Monica! Keep it up, you still may win this fight!”
In Patricia’s corner:
They work the entire break trying to revive her.
Both women, amazingly enough are on their feet for round 10.
The bell sounds and both women come out, ready to fight.
Patricia quickly backs Monica against the ropes and quickly scores with several hard shots to Monica’s body, further damaging her already broken ribs.
Monica finally spits her mouthpiece out because she’s unable to breathe.
The referee stops the fight long enough for Monica to put her mouthpiece back in.
No sooner does the fight resume, Patricia hits a vicious right hook to Monica’s jaw, knocking her to the canvas.
Monica’s corner is urging her to stay down, but she finally gets up at the count 8.
Patricia quickly shoves the referee out of the way and clinches up with Monica.
Patricia now starts with the heavy body shots, Monica once again spits out her mouthpiece, causing the referee to once again pause the fight.
Just then, the horn sounds, ending round 10.
Monica once again stumbles to her corner.
In Monica’s corner:
“Okay…breathe, Monica, get in as much air as possible. You got to stop spitting your mouthpiece out, okay? You got two more rounds left, hang in there, you can still win this!”
In Patricia’s corner:
“Keep busting her ribs up, Patricia, you’re making it impossible for her to breathe. Keep it up!”
Both women are on their feet for round 11.
The bell sounds and now both women face off in the middle of the ring.
Patricia lands a right hook, followed by Monica landing a right hook. This goes on for a few seconds until Monica lands a vicious uppercut, dropping Patricia to the canvas.
Patricia struggles to get to her feet, finally getting up at the count of 9.
Both women come face to face, Patricia shoves Monica and then quickly hits an uppercut of her own, sending Monica down to the canvas.
Monica is up at the count of 8.
No sooner is she up, the horn sounds, ending round 11.
Both women require help to get to their corners.
In Monica’s corner:
“What were you thinking? You can’t stand there trading shots with her! Get your head in this fight, you have one round left! KNOCK HER OUT!”
In Patricia’s corner:
“You can’t stand toe to toe with her, she’ll knock you out! Now, this is the final round, you’re winning this fight, just don’t get knocked out!”
Both women are on their feet for round 12.
The bell sounds, and both women can barely stand up.
Patricia gets face to face with Monica.
Monica lands a right hook, backing Patricia up.
Patricia now shoves Monica, and follows it up with a vicious uppercut, knocking Monica out cold.
Monica lands hard on the canvas, banging her head on the way down.
The referee doesn’t even count, he just calls the fight.
Your winner, by knockout…and…STILL Bare Knuckles Champion…PATRICIA.
The medical staff quickly rushes in to check on both women.
Both women are led to waiting ambulances and taken to the hospital.
