The stage is set for a huge title unification bout, as KOA Champion, Madison Sex-Kitten defends her title against WEC MMA Champion Destiny Dumon, both titles are on the line in this match up.
This is the 3rd time for them to meet, Destiny won the 1st meeting in controversial fashion during the KOA Tournament, Madison won the 2nd meeting decisively, knocking Destiny out in the 3rd round. Now this is the 3rd and final meeting between these two.
The winner of this match will be the 1st WEC Unified MMA champion, and for Destiny, she’ll get one more crack at Brandi Passante.
As usual, I join Chuck at the announce position, but a little change, we’re joined by my new girlfriend, Alicia Vitarelli.
“Steve, Alicia, this is certainly a pleasure to have you two joining us tonight.”
“Chuck, this is a treat for me as well, having the beautiful Alicia join us. How do you feel, Alicia?”
“This is a little bit different than being the backstage interviewer, but, I’ll get used to it.” She says, with a smile on her face.
I lean over and kiss Alicia before sitting down at the announce desk.
“OK, well, Samantha Ponder is backstage with MMA Champion Destiny Dumon...Sam?”
“Thank you, Chuck. Destiny, the last two times you faced Madison, they were pretty one sided in favor of Madison, what can you do to change that in your final meeting with her?”
“Sam, the last two times I faced Madison, I was in a different place than I am now, I was getting used to life in the WEC, now I’m ready to face Madison, and if I’m dealt yet another defeat, so be it, but, let me tell you, I’m not going to resort to a low blow to achieve my victory, not like before. I’m going to earn my victory, if I get a victory tonight.” Destiny says, walking away.
“Thank you, Destiny! Chuck, back to you.”
Destiny starts making her way to the ring, she’s accompanied by her corner crew, and she’s wearing a light pink sports bra and white shorts. She gets inspected cage side, receives her mouth piece and enters the octagon.
“Thank you, Sam. Steve, what are your thoughts on Destiny Dumon?”
“Chuck, I was all wrong about Destiny Dumon. When she first entered the WEC, she was all brash and attitude, and she couldn’t back it up and she slid further down the card. Now she’s improved herself greatly and she’s on the verge of doing something great in the WEC.”
“Ok, with that being said, Samantha is standing by backstage with KOA Champion Madison Sex-Kitten...Sam?”
“Thank you, Chuck. Madison, as I asked Destiny, this is your 3rd time facing her, what can you do to ensure another victory for yourself?”
“Sam, the two times I faced Destiny in the octagon, let’s face facts, I should be 2-0, if it wasn’t for a low blow by Destiny in our 1st meeting, I would be 2-0, but, no matter, I proved her victory was a fluke by knocking har ass out in the 3rd round of our 2nd meeting. And now, tonight, our 3rd and final meeting. Destiny...prepare to be looking up at the lights again!” Madison says, walking away.
“Thank you, Madison! Chuck, back to you.”
Madison heads to the ring, accompanied by her corner crew, and wearing a yellow sports bra and black shorts.
She gets inspected cage side, receives her mouth piece and enters the octagon.
“Steve, what are your thoughts on Madison?” Chuck asks.
“Chuck, Madison feels like she was robbed in the KOA tournament by Destiny. And it’s hard to argue with her. Hopefully, tonight will bring some closure for them both.
Once both women are in their respective corners, ring announcer Karen Rogers enters the octagon to make the formal introductions.
“Ladies & gentlemen! Welcome to the WEC Arena! The following is our...MAIN EVENT of the evening, it is scheduled for 5 rounds and it is for both the KOA World and WEC MMA Championships. The winner being the new Unified MMA World Champion.
“Introducing first...fighting out of the blue corner...she is from Charlotte, North Carolina...she is the...REIGNING...DEFENDING...WEC MMA champion...please welcome...DESTINY DUMON!”
Destiny smiles and waves to the crowd.
“Her opponent...fighting out of the red corner...also from Charlotte, North Carolina...she is the...REIGNING...DEFENDING...KOA World champion...please welcome...MADISON SEX-KITTEN!”
Madison doesn’t acknowledge the crowd.
The referee gives final instructions, the bell sounds and both women come out circling.
Madison tries for a takedown immediately, but, it’s stuffed by Destiny.
Destiny quickly scores with a right hook that lands right on the jaw of Madison.
Madison quickly answers with two jabs, snapping Destiny’s head back.
Destiny now tries for a takedown, but, Madison is too close to the cage. Destiny now fires off a series of punches to Madison’s stomach.
Madison now clinches up with Destiny, but it’s Destiny who is able to execute a hip toss, sending Madison crashing to the mat.
Destiny goes to get on top, but, the horn sounds, ending round 1.
“Pretty even 1st round, except right there at the end, Steve, Alicia, what are your thoughts?” Chuck asks
“I think it’s just like you said, it was pretty even except for right there at the end, Destiny loves using that hip toss to her advantage.” I say.
“Destiny is proving that she is the superior fighter tonight, although it wouldn’t surprise me if Madison tried to exert her dominance in the 2nd round.” Alicia says.
Chuck can’t help but notice that Alicia & I are holding hands under the announce table
“Great start, Destiny, although you need to try harder for a takedown. Other than that, you’re doing great so far.”
“Madison, you need to guard against that hip toss, she loves using it. If at all possible, avoid the clinch, if you avoid the clinch, you’ll avoid the hip toss.”
Both women are on their feet for round 2.
The bell sounds and both women come out circling.
Madison once again tries for a takedown, she manages to back Destiny against the cage, but, is unable to take her down.
Madison does score with a combo to Destiny’s midsection.
Destiny fires back with a spinning back fist, but Madison blocks it.
Madison once again attempts a takedown, this time she’s successful, taking Destiny down to the mat.
Madison quickly gets on top and begins raining down hard elbow shots to Destiny.
Somehow Destiny is able to get back to her feet. Only to be taken right back down by Madison.
Madison continues with the elbow shots.
Just as Destiny gets back to her feet, the horn sounds, ending round 2.
“See, it’s just like I said, Madison is showing she’s not beat yet.” Alicia says, kissing my cheek
“What are your thoughts, Steve?” Chuck asks.
“I think we’re in for an incredible finish, although, in all honesty, Destiny can’t take too many more rounds like that.” I say.
“Ok, Destiny, you need to guard against the takedown better, you got destroyed that round. Get her in the clinch and go for the hip toss, that’s your only chance.”
“Great job that round, Madi. Keep going for the takedown, she obviously can’t stop it, and ground and pound your way to victory.”
Both women are on their feet for round 3.
The bell sounds, and Destiny comes out charging, backing Madison against the cage.
Destiny begins firing off rights and lefts, mainly connecting with Madison’s face, some on her chest, some on her stomach.
Destiny eventually gets Madison in the clinch and begins landing elbow strikes. Destiny then stomps on Madison’s feet, getting her off balance enough to execute a hip toss, Madison goes crashing to the mat.
Destiny quickly gets on top and passes Madison’s guard. Destiny now begins landing hard elbow strikes. Destiny opens a gash over Madison’s left eye.
Madison gets back to her feet, but Destiny shoots in for a takedown, and takes Madison right back down to the mat.
Just then, the horn sounds, ending round 3.
“Another explosive round, Steve, your thoughts?” Chuck asks.
“Chuck, this match is a war, plain & simple. It’s going to come down to the 5th and final round.”
“Great job that round, Dest, just keep it up. You already have her bloodied, keep applying the pressure and you’ll be the Unified Champion.”
“Ok, you know you need to do better this round. Go for a takedown as soon as the round begins. Apply pressure and she’ll crack, do you hear me, Madi?”
Madison nods her head ‘yes’
Both women are on their feet for round 4.
The bell sounds, and Madison, as expected, quickly shoots in for a takedown, this catches Destiny off guard, and Madison easily takes her down. Immediately, Destiny goes to guard, and Madison is unable to pass it, so, she allows Destiny to get back to her feet.
Once on their feet, Madison scores with a body kick/right hook combo, this backs Destiny up several steps.
Madison shoots in for another takedown, she lifts Destiny off of her feet and slams her to the mat. Destiny momentarily has the wind knocked out of her.
Destiny lays there, struggling to catch her breath, and Madison is easily able to pass her guard.
It’s Madison’s turn to land elbow shots, closing Destiny’s left eye.
The horn sounds, ending round 4.
“Just one more round to go, Chuck, this has been a war.” I say.
“I agree, Chuck, but I think Destiny can pull this fight out!” Alicia says.
“Hang in there, Destiny, this is the final round coming up, hang in there.”
“You did great, Madi, keep the pressure up and you’ll win.”
Both women are on their feet for round 5.
The bell sounds, and Destiny once again rushes in, throwing bombs, she connect several times with Madison chin, and a glancing blow off her temple, knocking Madison to a seated position on the mat. Destiny continues throwing bombs, finally Madison finally goes flat on her back on the mat.
The referee steps in, stopping the fight.
The winner by knockout and the Unified MMA World Champion...Destiny Dumon.
I go in the ring to strap the new title around Destiny’s waist.
