The Celebrity MMA Tournament continues with Alison Brie taking on Jenelle Moreno.
Alison enter first, wearing a blue sports bra and matching shorts, she has her brown hair tied back in a ponytail. She gets inspected cage side, hugs her corner staff, receives her mouthpiece and enters the octagon, she runs around for a few seconds before standing in her corner.
Jenelle enters next, wearing a silver sports bra and matching shorts, like Alison, Jenelle also has her hair tied back in a ponytail. Jenelle gets inspected cage side, hugs her corner staff, receives her mouthpiece and runs into the octagon, running around before finally stopping at her corner.
Both women meet in the center of the octagon and receive final instructions, and they go back to their corners.
The horn sounds and both women come out circling.
Alison scores first, with a right hook to Jenelle’s midsection, Jenelle answers back with a straight right to Alison’s face, making her back up a few steps.
Alison then shoots in for a takedown, but, Jenelle stuffs it, Jenelle quickly answers with two punches to the side of Alison’s head.
Jenelle then score with a kick to Alison’s side, and Alison scores with a leg sweep, knocking Jenelle to the mat.
Alison is quickly on top, raining down rights & lefts, Jenelle tries to cover up, but, already her left eye is beginning to swell & close. After a minute of this, Alison gets up, and allows Jenelle to get back to her feet as well.
Both women begin exchanging punches again, with Alison gaining the upper hand, backing Jenelle against the cage, and really beginning to work on Jenelle’s stomach and abs.
Finally they lock up against the cage, with Alison stomping on Jenelle’s feet until she’s able to execute a hiptoss, sending Jenelle crashing to the mat.
Join then the horn sounds, ending round 1.
Both women easily make it to their corners.
In Alison’s corner:
“Good job so far, Ali. Keep pounding away, and keep going for those takedowns, she has no real takedown defense. Keep it up.” Her corner man says.
In Jenelle’s corner:
“You did ok, you need to protect yourself better, and you need to stay off the mat, her ground and pound is fierce. My advice, keep it standing up, that’s your best chance.” Her corner man says.
Both women are on their feet for round 2.
The horn sounds, and both women come out circling.
Alison charges in for a takedown, and is successful, and immediately gains side control, and begins ramming her knee over and over again into Jenelle’s side, causing her mouth to open and she gasps for air.
After another minute of this, Alison gets back to her feet, and allows Jenelle to get to her feet as well.
Both women touch gloves and continue circling around the octagon.
Jenelle tries to land a side kick, but, Alison catches her leg, and sweeps out her other legs, sending Jenelle back down to the mat.
Alison quickly gets back on top and again begins raining down hard elbow shots, opening a cut under Jenelle’s one eye.
Just then the horn sounds, ending round 2. Jenelle needs assistance getting to her corner.
In Alison’s corner:
“You’ve won the first 2 rounds, Ali, keep going for takedowns, and continue your ground and pound. Win this next round and you’ll win the fight.”
Meanwhile, in Jenelle’s corner.
“Jenelle? You want me to throw the towel in? You’re getting killed out there, get it together or I’ll have no choice but to throw the towel in.”
Both women are on their feet for round 3.
The horn sounds and both women come out circling.
Alison charges in and immediately takes Jenelle down to the mat.
Alison then begins trying for a submission, first trying for an armbar, when that was unsuccessful, Alison focuses her attention on a triangle choke.
After a minute, she’s able to lock in the triangle choke, and Jenelle immediately begins tapping.
Alison Brie is declared the winner.
Alison celebrates by running around the cage.
The doctors rush in to attend to Jenelle.
